Mission Statement

The UCLA Psychiatry Residency Training Program is dedicated to training psychiatrists of the highest caliber who will apply themselves fully to understanding and improving the lives of people impacted by mental illness at the level of the individual, communities, and society.

We aim to create a community of residents, faculty, and alumni whose backgrounds and life experiences reflect the wide diversity of Los Angeles itself.

We aspire to push residents to achieve their highest potential through a collaborative training environment that is clinically rigorous yet supportive of each resident’s individual needs.

We strive to nurture each resident’s specific interests and ambitions to position our graduates to be at the forefront of our field as clinicians, researchers, advocates, educators, and leaders.
